Don't be afraid of the man who practices a thousand kicks once, be afraid of the man who practices one kick a thousand times. Bruce Lee
When it comes to prospecting and marketing strategies, it's very easy to be all over the place. You can dance around from one social media platform to another, and not making any headway. You can take course after course, and become well-trained, but unless you execute you'll get nowhere.
Whatever your strategy is, you need to focus and master one thing at a time. I mean master it. If anyone can be successful in these efforts, you can as well. You just have to take the time and make the effort to do it.
Here are a few observations about strategy.
The map is not the territory.
When you're prospecting, you can look at the whole world as a possibility. Every human is a potential business builder that's going to join your team and become a superstar. When you look at the map, it can sometimes seem overwhelming and daunting to find people to talk to.
Instead of looking at this big picture, establish a territory. While you do need to be mindful of your business as you come in contact with people, it doesn't necessarily mean that every person is a customer or potential builder.
Network marketing is exactly that; working a network. Your first priority is to work your warm market while prospecting in a cold one. If your warm market tells you no, then ask for a referral. This might go something like this, “well I don't think this is a fit for you, who do you know that might be open to earning a few hundred extra dollars a month if they were shown an exact system to do it”?
When you are using a tactic such as this, you might find that when you pull the opportunity away your potential prospect might step up. People don't want to be excluded from opportunity. So when you do this, you all can learn that the one who initially said no might turn into a yes.
Having a choice is better than none.
Action. It's everything.
When you are trying to grow in network marketing, we really only have two options. You can take action that will actually create revenue or not. You can listen to training, read The blogs of successful people, but taking action now is the key. All those learnings are fine, but at some point you have to implement them.
Do. Just do. It is your responsibility to take the next steps. Create something. Improve something. Learn from your mistakes and your successes so that you add to your momentum.
There's no such thing as failure, only feedback. What does that mean? You do things, some of which are wrong, to get to the things that are right.
No successful person I know of have heard of or read about has had an unbroken direct path to success. It's all stops and starts, ups and downs, failures and triumphs.
Flow stops when we become fixed on one option.
If everything in your future begins right now, that future is just a series of choices. If you're stuck in your business, why are you choosing that one limited option?
You have unlimited potential. Starting from now, you can become the most amazing, incredible, powerful you that can be imagined. It's just deciding. The way you are right now is just the way that's been created because of the choices you made in the past.
About that. All those times that you made decisions that turned out to be wrong, you made choices that were not wise. All of these thoughts and actions are what brought you to this place right now. If you've made mistakes, it's a good thing. It means you have wisdom now. Means that you have a different perspective now.
If you could wind the clock, and take away the pain from your choices, but keep the lessons, would you do that? Of course you would. And if you're going to go in a new direction, you have to make a new decision. And that new decision, it's who you decide to become.
It's not like you can just say “OK I'm going to go make $1 million.” Those are secondary results from the process of creating the new you by making the new decisions.
Was that helpful? If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you commented. Feel free to share it with anyone who might benefit.
