Many of you, on your personal development journey, have read the book “The Secret”. The premise of the book is mainly that thoughts become things, and by changing your thought process you can change how your life manifests. If you're truly going to change your outcome, you definitely need to have a new level of thinking.
Here are a few ways to use this effectively in your daily life.
Don't get out of bed until you feel like a leader.
The first opportunity to take charge of your life is the moment you wake up. Psalm 119 says “You’re blessed when you stay on course, walking steadily on the road revealed by God”. What better time to listen to God than when you first wake up?
As you're laying in bed contemplating touching the ground, first established in your mind that you are going to take on the day like a leader. Set the path you have going forward with confidence, and know that you are a winner. Make the active decision that your day is going to be one of success. Focus on creating that level of belief, and carry that as a singular conviction as you swing your feet over to the ground.
The best way to predict your future is to create it.
It's a terrible feeling to be out of control. It's debilitating, and extremely limited in what you can accomplish. Instead of thinking about what you want to move away from that negative, focus on that idea you created upon waking, and move towards that.
If you're trying to create success, and you are moving away from lack, struggle, or poverty, once you have the slightest bit of success you will have reached your goal and put an end to your momentum. So instead of thinking about avoiding what you don't want, focus on what you do want, and move towards that. Then your success will not be limited by the constraints you put on your thinking.
When you stop creating, you're more in love with your past than in your future. If negative feelings are driving your thoughts, you are also living in the past. It's been determined that 50% of what you talk about in your past isn't the complete truth. So think about that. 50% of what you have used to drive your excuses it's a lie. How does that make you feel?
To truly change is to think differently.
New thoughts create a new reality.
The moment you decide to become defined by your new thoughts, is the moment you become a creator. If you knew without a doubt that your thoughts create your reality, then you would wake up every day creating a new one. That's why the thought process of visualizing your leadership role when you wake up it's so important.
Emotionally embrace the future reality is if it already exists. What does that future look like? Is it near or far, is it small or big, is it in color or black-and-white? Take yourself to that future timeline, and immerse into the image as if it is now. See you in your mind what you would see in reality, hear what you would hear, feel what you would feel. What indicator would be the landmark of that new reality? How would you know that you had achieved?
If you can imagine that new future, that new possibility, that new reality, then you can achieve it. You know what you need to do, you know what steps you need to take, just take them. So if you accept the premise that thoughts become things, then you just have to change your thinking.
